Brush/Limb Pickup

The City of Rockford provides four quarterly brush, limb, and demo pickups for households living within the corporate limits of Rockford. The dates for pickups in 2026 are as follows:
  • Saturday January 24th—Brush, limb and Christmas Trees
  • Saturday April 25th—Brush and limb
  • Saturday July 25th—Bulky waste
  • Saturday October 24th— Brush and limb
Note for July bulky waste pickup:

No household garbage, hazardous waste, appliances with freon, wheels, paint, or tires. Pickup usually starts around 7:30 am. If you have any questions, you can contact Rockford City Hall by calling (865) 970-9665.

Building Permits

If you would like to build anything on your property, you are required to have a building permit. The cost of a building permit is $10 and you must fill out an application for your building projects at Rockford City Hall. Business Licenses

If you wish to open a business in the City of Rockford, you must first produce a copy of a Blount County Business License. More information about acquiring a Blount County Business License can be found here. Upon presentation of your Blount County Business License you will be required to fill out an application form at Rockford City Hall and pay a one-time fee of $10 for a business permit. City Hall is typically open from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. City Hall is closed for major holidays.

Fire

The City of Rockford pays Blount County Fire Protection District for fire protection for homes within the corporate limits of Rockford. No other structures or outbuildings on the property are covered. 

Police

The City of Rockford is covered under Blount County Sheriff’s Office. Please call 911 in the event of an emergency.

City Park

Park restrooms are open seasonally and will be reopened in Spring 2026. Garbage cans are located throughout the park.

If you would like to reserve the park for a weekend event, call Rockford City Hall at (865) 970‑9665 to see if your date is available.

Paid park reservations are also posted on City Hall and the park bulletin board. All reservations are first come, first served and must be paid in full a week in advance of your reserved date. Park Permits are $20 for the first four hours and $60/hour for anything longer. No inflatables are allowed at the park without proof of liability insurance, and please try to clean up after your event.
